Town of Hillsborough

The downtown historic district, boasts more than 100 homes, churches and buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Visitors Center is one of those buildings which is open to the public. This building served as Gen. Joseph E. Johnston's headquarters when he surrendered the largest of the Confederate armies to Gen. William T. Sherman, leading to the Civil War's end.

Currently the county seat for Orange County, Hillsborough is a tourist and permanent destination and a hotbed of activity for artists and writers. Each June, Barbecue lovers descend on the town for the annual Hog Day, and the downtown comes alive with arts and entertainment the last Friday evening of each month during warm weather. Hillsborough is home to the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area and several other trails.

Town of Carrboro

Real Estate - Town of Carrboro North CarolinaCarrboro is also known for its arts and music. There are many well-known artists, musicians and writers that hail in this small town and its neighbor, Chapel Hill. It's a rare day that the outdoor market places, restaurants and parks aren't filled with people enjoying this community.

Carrboro was started in 1882 when the Durham-Greensboro Southern Railway line was extended to link university students with neighboring communities. Carrboro is a cozy town within Orange County with an absence of parking meters and a reputation for a terrific farmers market. The town, commonly referred to as the “Paris of the Piedmont” takes pride in being known as a community rich in cultural and economic diversity.
