Community Service

REALTORS® are the community!

REALTORS® facilitate community growth by helping people find the home of their dreams in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, Durham, Pittsboro and surrounding areas.

But community involvement doesn’t stop at the closing table. REALTORS® give back to the community by assisting homeowners who are physically or financially unable to make needed repairs to their homes through the Greater Chapel Hill Association of REALTORS® annual Fix-A-Home project. The project is successful as a result of REALTOR® volunteers and donations of goods and services from local businesses.

Sadly, disaster strikes even in “Blue Heaven” and the Association is there to offer support. Funds are available through the Community Disaster Aid for local residents who have suffered loss through house fires, floods, or other natural disaster.

Contact your REALTOR® for more information about our programs or for additional community outreach opportunities.

Fifth Annual Fix-A-Home Project a huge success!

The Association’s biggest undertaking is the local Fix-A-Home program – our very own mini-home makeover in a day! Homeowners are selected based on financial needs or their physical limitations.

In 2011 we selected a local Hero – Jackie Helvey at 111 Roberts Street in Carrboro.

A lot of “behind-the-scenes” time and energy went into making this two-day event a success. REALTORS believe in giving back to the communities they serve, and Fix-A-Home is just one of the ways we show our appreciation to the outstanding citizens who truly make this area, “the Southern Part of Heaven.”
